UKG has secured a leader position in the 2025 Nucleus Research Workforce Management Technology Value Matrix for the sixth consecutive year, with the research firm highlighting the company’s AI-powered tools and industry-specific capabilities.

The annual assessment evaluates how workforce management solutions meet current and future customer needs. UKG maintained its leader status by combining intuitive product usability with robust functionality, according to the report released this week.

AI agents address compliance challenges

The recognition comes as UKG introduces new AI agents within its Pro Workforce Management suite. Nucleus Research specifically highlighted the Meal and Break AI agent, which alerts frontline managers when employees need to take breaks, helping companies avoid common labor law violations.

For healthcare organizations, a self-scheduling agent creates personalized schedules based on staff preferences, credentials and shift eligibility.

“UKG technology allows us to take better care of our people and our patients,” said Jon Stabbe, director of workforce management at Community Health System, a hospital system with 11,000 employees. “Our staff can see their schedules in UKG and pick up shifts at their home unit or nearby facilities, which gives them better work-life balance and has contributed to an increase in retention. The changes we’ve put in place as a result of implementing UKG technology have helped us save $2.8 million.”

Expanded suite includes global payroll tools

The UKG Pro Workforce Management suite now includes several components that contributed to the leader ranking:

UKG One View provides a single process to manage payroll calculations from multiple in-country providers while offering real-time visibility of global payroll data.

UKG Strategic Workforce Planning offers short-term forecasting and long-term capacity planning tools to help organizations predict and prevent labor gaps.

UKG Talk serves as a frontline employee communications platform with two-way messaging, company-wide announcements and employee resource groups.

Additional tools include UKG Pro Employee Voice for conversational surveys and UKG Wallet, which provides employees with on-demand access to earned wages.

Research firm cites comprehensive approach

“UKG is a Leader in our WFM Technology Value Matrix for the sixth year now by demonstrating strong product usability and the ability to support complex workforce management needs across various industries,” said Evelyn McMullen, research manager at Nucleus Research. “With its comprehensive suite, including an array of generative AI and AI agent use cases, coupled with in-depth, real-time insights and recommendations, UKG is clearly committed to helping organizations unlock their growth goals by optimizing productivity, creating great employee experiences, and delivering workforce intelligence in the moment decisions need to be made.”

Multiple rankings across product lines

The workforce management recognition adds to UKG’s recent accolades from Nucleus Research. The company’s UKG Ready suite earned a leader position in the SMB HCM Technology Value Matrix for the fifth consecutive year, while UKG Pro received leader status in the HCM Technology Value Matrix for the 14th straight year.

UKG serves more than 80,000 organizations across various sizes, industries and geographic regions with HR, payroll and workforce management cloud solutions.
