Scotiabank has been named one of the Best Workplaces in Canada for the fifth consecutive year by the Great Place to Work Institute. This recognition is based on employee feedback, which highlights key workplace attributes such as credibility, trust, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.

Scotiabank has implemented several initiatives to enhance the employee experience and meet the needs of its diverse workforce. These include the introduction of the Bank’s Global Inclusive Standards of Care for employee benefits, a global standard for parental leave, and increased coverage for fertility treatments, adoption, and surrogacy. The bank also emphasizes its commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) through various efforts, such as appointing a VP of Global Inclusion and offering over 450 DEI-specific learning resources.
The Best Workplaces in Canada list is compiled based on the Trust Index employee survey, which measures behaviors that drive trust in management, connection with colleagues, and loyalty to the company. This year’s list reflects the experiences of 330,000 employees, impacting over 600,000 Canadian workers.
Scotiabank, headquartered in Toronto, provides a wide range of financial services, including personal and commercial banking, wealth management, corporate and investment banking, and capital markets. The bank has assets of approximately $1.4 trillion as of January 31, 2024.
