The Association of Canadian Search, Employment, and Staffing Services (ACSESS) and the National Association of Canadian Consulting Businesses (NACCB) have announced a merger.
The move, effective Jan. 1, 2025, will consolidate resources and strategic objectives to support the interests of over 20,000 knowledge workers represented by the associations across Canada.
The decision comes after a structured negotiation process earlier this year, led by ACSESS President Darlene Minatel and NACCB President Michael Leacy. Leaders of both organizations unanimously approved the merger, citing the shared goals of professional staffing and consulting services as the foundation for their alignment. The combined organization will operate under the ACSESS brand.
“With this merger, our members will benefit from the leadership role ACSESS takes in informing members of national legislative and regulatory changes that can affect their businesses,” Leacy said. He emphasized that members would gain access to “compliance education and various operational tools” to navigate industry regulations and policy shifts.
The merger aims to create a more influential voice to advocate for staffing and consulting firms at the federal and provincial levels. By pooling resources, ACSESS and NACCB anticipate strengthened support for issues critical to the industry, including the role of independent contractors in fields such as IT, engineering, finance, and legal.
