CIBC has secured a spot on the 2025 list of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, marking its 13th consecutive appearance in the annual rankings compiled by Mediacorp Canada Inc. The recognition evaluates Canadian employers on workplace environment, employee benefits, skills development, and community engagement.
Sandy Sharman, CIBC’s Group Head of People, Culture and Brand, said the bank’s ongoing focus on fostering a purpose-driven culture played a key role in its inclusion on the list.
“Our team members bring our purpose-driven culture to life every day through their commitment to our clients and communities,” Sharman said. “To support them in making a meaningful difference every day, we are focused on creating an environment where everyone, including CIBC team members, can achieve their ambitions.”
CIBC highlighted its investments in initiatives such as career development programs, flexible work arrangements, and comprehensive health and wellness benefits as contributors to its recognition. The company also noted its emphasis on community engagement as a defining feature of its workplace strategy.
This year, CIBC also received other notable accolades. These include being ranked as Canada’s top company for gender equality by Equileap for the fourth consecutive year, inclusion in Forbes’ list of the World’s Best Companies for Women, and a PAIR Silver certification from the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business. Additionally, the bank received federal recognition through the Indigenous Reconciliation Award and Innovation Award for the second year running and was ranked #1 in Investment Executive’s Report Card on Banks for 2024.
CIBC, which serves over 14 million clients across its banking, wealth management, and capital markets operations, said it remains committed to fostering a workplace that enables its employees to thrive while delivering value to clients and communities.
