Supriya James, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at CWB Financial Group, has been named one of Canada’s 100 most powerful women, marking a significant recognition for her contributions to the financial institution and the broader community. The Women’s Executive Network (WXN) awarded James a place on its prestigious “Top 100” list, honouring women whose leadership and accomplishments have influenced Canadian industries, companies, and communities.

Kelly Blackett, CWB’s Chief People and Culture Officer, highlighted James’ impact on the organization, crediting her with shaping CWB’s talent strategy and enhancing the employee experience.

“Supriya has an outstanding ability to develop and execute people strategies that power outstanding client outcomes,” Blackett said. “Her talent for coaching leaders at all levels has helped many reach their best potential and purpose.” Blackett also pointed to James’ work in advancing programs that benefit equity-deserving groups across Alberta, underscoring her dedication to fostering inclusive opportunities.

James joins a roster of CWB leaders who have previously received the Top 100 award, including Blackett, who was named in 2020, and Carolyn Graham, Executive Vice President and CFO, who was recognized in 2017. Other past honorees from CWB’s leadership team include directors Sarah Morgan-Silvester (2018), Linda Hohol (2007), and Margaret Mulligan (2003, 2004).

WXN’s Top 100 list celebrates women across Canada for their contributions to leadership and advocacy, drawing attention to efforts that support diversity and professional growth in a range of sectors.
