The Toronto-based Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) has announced the appointment of Sachi Kittur as interim People and Culture Advisor. Kittur, who brings over 20 years of experience in building workplace cultures within Canada’s tech industry, will serve in the role for six months while HRPA continues its search for a full-time leader.
Kittur is tasked with leading key people and culture initiatives as part of HRPA’s strategic plan, Vision 2027, which aims to strengthen the association’s role as a professional hub for HR practitioners. According to Jodi Kovitz, CEO of HRPA, Kittur’s expertise will help guide the organization during a time of growth and transformation.
“Sachi envisions HRPA as a vibrant, inclusive ‘mosaic’ culture that celebrates the diverse voices and strengths of every team member — a place where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered to make a meaningful impact,” Kovitz said.
The appointment also marks Kittur’s return to HRPA after delivering a session at the HRPA Summit last November, where her approach to culture-building resonated with participants.
During her interim tenure, Kittur will oversee recruitment efforts for several critical positions, including a business development manager, senior accountant, and learning programs producer. Kovitz said the association is preparing to hire for additional roles in 2025 as part of its long-term strategic growth.
“Sachi’s leadership will be instrumental as we work to align our internal culture with our member experiences and broader goals,” Kovitz said.
