Ergodyne, a manufacturer of workplace safety gear, has introduced the latest models in its Skullerz Safety Glasses and Goggles line: the VORDR Safety Glasses and the upgraded AEGIR Safety Glasses, which now feature polarized lens options.

These new additions aim to address the high incidence of workplace eye injuries and improve compliance by enhancing comfort, it said in a press release.

According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), around 2,000 U.S. workers suffer job-related eye injuries requiring medical treatment each day. Ergodyne’s new safety glasses are designed to meet stringent safety standards while catering to the practical needs of workers, a necessity highlighted by Product Manager Justin Schuetz.

“Our commitment to listening to worker feedback and integrating it into our designs ensures solutions that meet real-world needs of those who rely on them every day,” Schuetz said. “And that, in turn, means PPE that gets worn because it doesn’t get in the way of the work.”

VORDR Safety Glasses

Named after Vörðr, a guardian spirit in Norse mythology, the VORDR glasses are the lightest in the Skullerz line, weighing just 20 grams. They feature a soft nose piece and flexible temples for a comfortable fit across various head sizes. These glasses comply with ANSI/ISEA Z87.1+, CSA Z94.3, and EN 166 standards and are packaged in recyclable materials.

Polarized AEGIR Safety Glasses

The updated AEGIR Safety Glasses now offer polarized lenses, which reduce glare from reflective surfaces such as water and roadways. Schuetz emphasized the benefits of these lenses for workers sensitive to glare or prone to migraines.

“Polarized safety glasses have seen a surge in popularity because they enhance visual comfort and reduce eye strain,” Schuetz explained. “The new polarized AEGIR glasses filter intense reflected light, ensuring that only direct light enters the field of vision, which helps in keeping the eyes comfortable and rested.”

By prioritizing both safety and comfort, Ergodyne’s latest offerings aim to increase the usage of protective eyewear, thereby reducing the occurrence of workplace eye injuries.
