Western Financial Group has earned a spot on Forbes’ list of Canada’s Best Employers for 2025. The annual ranking, produced in partnership with global data provider Statista, surveyed over 40,000 employees across various industries in Canada to identify top employers with at least 500 staff members.
The recognition reflects feedback from employees and the broader public, with personal evaluations by employees carrying the most weight. In total, more than 900,000 employer evaluations were analyzed for this year’s list.
Western Financial Group CEO Grant Ostir said the recognition reflects the company’s values and workplace culture. “When we say our people and our customers are at the core of all we do, it’s not just lip service,” he said. “This recognition reflects our outstanding workplace culture, our deep commitment to care for our employees while honouring the great work they do for our teams and our customers, every day.”
This is the second consecutive year Western has appeared on the Forbes list. Kristy Rachkowski, the company’s Chief People and Culture Officer, attributed the achievement to Western’s focus on fostering a welcoming and inclusive work environment. “We know that happy employees make for happy customers, so going the extra mile to create an environment where everyone feels valued for their hard work and unique contributions is a win-win,” Rachkowski said.
Founded in 1905 in High River, Alberta, Western Financial Group has grown to employ approximately 2,200 people across Canada. The company offers personal and business insurance services in over 200 communities.
