CIBC has been recognized as a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion after earning a top score on the 2025 Canada Disability Index, the bank announced Friday.
The recognition highlights CIBC’s efforts to create an accessible workplace as employers across Canada face pressure to improve disability inclusion practices. The bank joins hundreds of global organizations working to support the estimated 1.3 billion people with disabilities worldwide.
The Disability Index is a third-party benchmarking tool that measures workplace disability inclusion across culture and leadership, enterprise-wide access, employment practices, community engagement, and supplier inclusion.
“At CIBC, inclusion is the cornerstone of our bank’s culture. Building a workforce that reflects the clients and communities we serve allows for unique perspectives, experiences, and drives innovation,” said Sandy Sharman, Group Head, People, Culture and Brand, CIBC.
“This recognition reinforces our commitment to supporting our team members and empowering them to achieve their ambitions,” Sharman said.
The award comes as Canadian employers increasingly focus on disability inclusion as both a business imperative and legal requirement. Companies are working to remove barriers that prevent qualified candidates with disabilities from accessing employment opportunities.
