A recent LinkedIn report names artificial intelligence, travel advising and sustainability among the 25 fastest-growing jobs in the United States, offering employers fresh insight into emerging talent trends.
The research, released Jan. 7, also indicates that 64 per cent of workers feel overwhelmed by the pace of workplace change, with U.S. job-security confidence at its lowest point since the start of the pandemic, LinkedIn News said.
“But as the workplace continues to evolve, new opportunities arise,” the release said. According to LinkedIn, the annual “Jobs on the Rise” ranking spans roles that have shown sustained growth since 2022, including positions tied to AI development and consulting, healthcare support, travel and hospitality, and sustainability. The list highlights each role’s common skill sets, hiring locations, and availability of remote or hybrid work.
Physical therapists, workforce development managers and travel advisors appear in the top 10. Many of these jobs, such as AI engineer and AI consultant, show high remote or hybrid availability. Event coordinators and directors of development also stand out, while sustainability specialists reflect growing demand for expertise in environmentally responsible operations.
LinkedIn researchers calculated a growth rate for each job title based on millions of job starts from Jan. 1, 2022 to July 31, 2024. Factors such as sufficient postings, positive hiring trends and meaningful size by 2024 were required for inclusion. Internships, volunteer positions and student roles did not qualify, and roles dominated by a small handful of employers were also excluded. Most common industries, skill sets and gender distribution are based on the current LinkedIn profiles of members holding each job.

The study suggests that developing strategies to retain and attract talent in these areas could help organizations address rapid technological shifts and evolving employee expectations.
