F&M Bank has appointed Carly Buchanan as its new chief people officer, the company announced Friday. Buchanan will lead the bank’s human resources department, overseeing talent acquisition, employee engagement, and organizational development.
Buchanan brings more than 18 years of experience in HR and leadership, including a decade in retail banking. She holds senior HR certifications from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP) and the HR Certification Institute (HRCI). Previously, she served as president of the Northeast Indiana Human Resources Association and was named a 2023 Fort Wayne 40 Under 40 honoree.
“Carly’s leadership, expertise, and passion for people make her an incredible asset to F&M Bank,” said Lars Eller, the bank’s president and CEO. “Her strategic vision will strengthen our culture, enhance employee engagement, and support our mission of serving our customers and communities.”
Buchanan is also actively involved in community organizations, including Junior Achievement, the Boys and Girls Club, and the 988 Crisis Lifeline. She holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana Tech and lives in Northern Indiana with her family.
