The Human Resources Professionals Association announced Monday that CEO Jodi Kovitz will leave her position at the end of December to pursue a new opportunity.

Kovitz will continue in an advisory role until Jan. 30, 2026, to support the transition.

“It has been an extraordinary honour to serve this community and to work alongside such passionate professionals who are shaping the future of work in Canada,” said Kovitz.

Leadership during strategic transformation

Kovitz led the association through a period of change under its Vision 2027 strategic plan since joining the organization.

“Jodi has brought tremendous energy to the HRPA along with a strategic focus and a people-first approach,” said Alison Staples, chair of the HRPA board of directors.

Staples said Kovitz amplified the association’s voice and helped create a renewed sense of purpose across the membership.

Search for new CEO underway

The HRPA board will begin searching for the association’s next CEO to continue implementing Vision 2027.

The board will appoint an interim CEO who will work with HRPA’s executive leadership team. Details will be announced in the coming weeks.

HRPA is the professional regulatory body for HR professionals in Ontario, regulating and supporting more than 24,000 professionals and students.
