IGM Financial Inc. has been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2024 by Mediacorp Canada Inc., marking the fourth consecutive year the Winnipeg-based wealth management company has received the honour.

The annual ranking evaluates organizations across the country that offer exceptional workplaces and innovative practices to support their employees. IGM, which includes IG Wealth Management and Mackenzie Investments, employs more than 3,600 full-time staff and approximately 3,100 financial advisors nationwide.

James O’Sullivan, president and CEO of IGM Financial, said the company’s focus on fostering a supportive work environment contributes to its recognition. “We strive to create an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and respected,” he said.

The company highlights diversity, equity, and inclusion as central to its workplace strategy, alongside community engagement and sustainability efforts. Cynthia Currie, executive vice-president and chief human resources officer, said these initiatives are integral to creating a collaborative and productive work culture. “Our people-first approach emphasizes collaboration and contributes to a productive work environment where everyone is empowered to succeed,” she said.

IGM also supports seven employee-led Business Resource Groups, which provide leadership and development opportunities while advancing diversity within the organization.

The company’s community engagement efforts include longstanding campaigns such as the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s and initiatives like the Mackenzie Investments Charitable Foundation and the IGM Giving Campaign.

Sustainability is another key focus for IGM, which integrates environmental initiatives into its operations. In 2024, Mackenzie Investments was named the title sponsor of the PRI in Person conference, a global event on responsible investing. Other efforts include tree planting projects and community clean-ups in cities across Canada.

IGM Financial, a member of the Power Corporation group of companies, manages approximately $264 billion in assets as of October 31, 2024. It offers financial planning and investment services to about two million Canadians.
