The Government of Prince Edward Island has renewed a two-year funding agreement with Women’s Network PEI to support Trade HERizons, a program that helps women and gender-diverse individuals explore careers in trades and technology.
The initiative, run by Women’s Network PEI, provides career exploration and college preparation opportunities. It is aimed at building essential skills and supporting people who have traditionally been underrepresented in trades and tech roles.
“This program plays an essential part in strengthening the Island’s workforce by supporting individuals who are eager to contribute,” said Jenn Redmond, minister of Workforce, Advanced Learning and Population and the minister responsible for the Status of Women.
Jillian Kilfoil, executive director of Women’s Network PEI, said the program creates “a supportive place for people who have historically been underrepresented” in the sector.
“We are thrilled to have the support of the province to continue to offer Trade HERizons, a college prep and career exploration program for women identifying and gender non-binary Islanders interested in exploring the trades in PEI,” she said.
Applications are open for the fall 2025 cohort. For more information and to apply, visit Trade HERizons.
