About 600 clerical and intermodal employees represented by the United Steelworkers (USW) have ratified a new four-year collective agreement with Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC).
The agreement, announced March 17 by the Calgary-based railway company, marks the third successful collective bargaining outcome this year at CPKC, affecting thousands of workers across Canada.
“We are pleased to have received strong support for another collective agreement,” said Keith Creel, president and CEO of CPKC. “This provides long-term labour stability, increased wages, and improved benefits for thousands of CPKC employees across the country.”
Creel emphasized the importance of collaboration with the USW in reaching the agreement, highlighting its role in ensuring employees remain focused on safety and efficiency.
In February, Teamsters Canada Rail Conference Maintenance of Way Employees Division and Unifor ratified similar four-year collective agreements, affecting approximately 2,300 engineering services employees and 1,200 mechanical workers respectively.
CPKC operates the only single-line transnational railway connecting Canada, the United States, and Mexico, employing about 20,000 people across approximately 20,000 route miles.
