WorkSafeNB recognizes leaders in workplace safety at annual awards ceremony

WorkSafeNB honoured four recipients for their leadership in workplace safety at the annual Health and Safety Conference held in Fredericton on Friday. The 2024 Safety Star Awards were presented to two companies and two individuals who have demonstrated significant commitment to creating safe work environments across New Brunswick.

The recipients of this year’s awards are Simpson Building Contractors Ltd., J. Smith Excavating, Darrel Nickerson of J.D. Irving, Limited, and Ian Leavitt from NB Power. These honourees were recognized before approximately 700 conference attendees. (See videos on each of the winners below for more info.)

WorkSafeNB has held the Safety Star Awards for over 20 years, celebrating individuals and companies that exemplify excellence in workplace safety.
