Air Canada has been named one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers for 2026, the eighth time in 10 years the Montreal-based airline has received the recognition.

The Canada’s Best Diversity Employers competition recognizes employers with standout workplace programs supporting five groups: women, visible minorities, persons with disabilities, Indigenous peoples, and people who self-identify within 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

“We’re proud to be recognized for our ongoing commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion,” said Arielle Meloul-Wechsler, executive vice-president, chief human resources officer and public affairs at Air Canada. “This award spotlights how our employees, resource groups, champions, leaders, and community partners work together to build a more fair, equitable, and inclusive future where everyone feels they belong.”

Recruitment and inclusion programs

Air Canada’s diversity efforts include outreach to underrepresented communities to promote aviation career opportunities, and partnerships with Canadian organizations and specialty colleges to provide scholarships for underrepresented students studying to become pilots and aircraft mechanics. The airline also maintains employee resource groups and a governance structure it says supports inclusion across all levels of the organization.

Air Canada also received a separate recognition this year as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People for 2026.
