Air Canada has been recognized as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People 2026 by Mediacorp, marking the third consecutive year the airline has received the distinction.
The award evaluates employers based on programs designed to attract and retain younger workers, including tuition assistance, co-op programs, mentorship, training and career advancement initiatives.
Internship and training programs
Air Canada welcomed over 100 interns across various departments in the past year through its paid internship programs and Work Integrated Learning Program. The program partners with universities across Canada to provide post-secondary students with work experience opportunities.
Students have access to online training that includes second language skills development and diversity, equity and inclusion courses. The airline’s talent team also conducts workshops on resume optimization, LinkedIn profile development and interview preparation.
Integration and networking support
Air Canada operates a buddy system to help young professionals integrate into the organization. The airline hosts engagement events throughout the year, including in-person networking sessions at its training centre, museum and hangar.
A career orientation event provides an overview of available career paths and professional development opportunities within the organization.
“We are very proud of our progressive HR programs, which again have earned Air Canada recognition as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People,” said Arielle Meloul-Wechsler, executive vice president, chief human resources officer and public affairs at Air Canada. “There has never been a more exciting time to build a future in this field, especially as Air Canada embarks on our New Frontiers growth phase.”
