Borderless AI, a startup specializing in AI-powered solutions for the Employer of Record (EOR) industry, has announced the appointment of Beth Steinberg, former Chief People Officer at Chime, to its Board of Advisors.

Steinberg, with over 30 years of experience in human resources, is expected to enhance Borderless AI’s market position and impact in the HR space. Her expertise will support the company’s efforts in automating and accelerating HR processes, such as onboarding, managing, and paying international team members, through its AI agent, Alberni.

Following the company’s $27 million seed funding in March 2024, Steinberg’s appointment signifies a continued focus on leveraging generative AI to streamline complex HR tasks. Alberni, described as the first AI agent designed for global HR, automates tasks like generating employment agreements and onboarding new employees.

“Having an acute sense of the HR industry is critical to ensure we are providing products and services to our customers that drive real value and impact,” said Willson Cross, co-founder and CEO of Borderless AI. He emphasized Steinberg’s understanding of HR nuances and her leadership experience as vital to helping Borderless AI equip organizations with the necessary tools to scale globally.

Steinberg expressed her enthusiasm for joining the advisory board, stating, “The company’s all-in-one platform allows businesses to focus on growth while tapping into the world’s talent pool, simplifying global HR processes. By harnessing this innovative technology, Borderless AI is breaking down barriers and empowering companies to build diverse, high-performing teams.”

In her previous role as Chief People Officer at Chime, Steinberg led HR strategies and initiatives that drove team growth and development. She has also held significant HR roles at companies including Meta, Nike, Electronic Arts, and Nordstrom.

Steinberg’s appointment is part of a broader effort by Borderless AI to advance its technology and services. She joins Leonard Shen, a former Visa and PayPal executive, on the Board of Advisors, bringing expertise in compliance and other critical functions.

Borderless AI continues to focus on innovation and customer service, aiming to simplify global employment tasks through its AI-driven solutions. The company is headquartered in Toronto, and has raised $27 million in seed funding to date, backed by Susquehanna and Aglaé Ventures.
