CarGurus appoints Jennifer Hanson as chief people officer

CarGurus has announced the appointment of Jennifer Hanson as its new chief people officer, effective September 30, 2024. Hanson, who brings over two decades of experience in human resources, organizational design, and workplace culture, will lead the company’s People and Talent team, focusing on advancing strategies related to talent development and employee engagement.

Jason Trevisan, CEO of CarGurus, highlighted Hanson’s alignment with the company’s mission, stating, “Her proven expertise fostering workplace engagement and culture in support of a business’ success will be invaluable as we continue our innovation and growth.” He added that employees play a crucial role in delivering the company’s customer-focused services, and Hanson’s experience positions her well to help CarGurus attract and retain top talent.

Hanson’s career spans leadership roles in the technology, healthcare, and financial sectors. Most recently, she served as chief HR officer at Accolade, a national healthcare technology company, where she was credited with reshaping the human resources function to address key talent acquisition and retention challenges. Hanson also spent over 15 years at Fidelity Investments, where she helped launch a Medicare start-up and led the company’s employee benefits and experience functions.

In a statement, Hanson expressed enthusiasm for joining CarGurus, noting the company’s established workplace culture and industry position. “I look forward to helping scale a world-class culture through strategic initiatives that fuel business success and enable teams to drive growth and innovation,” she said.

Hanson holds a Juris Doctor degree from Northeastern University’s School of Law and began her career as an in-house healthcare attorney.
