CM Labs Simulations has acquired GlobalSim, a Utah-based developer of training simulators for heavy equipment operations, the company announced Dec. 16.
The acquisition combines two simulation-based training providers that serve the construction, utilities and ports sectors.
Expanded capabilities and presence
The deal integrates GlobalSim’s market knowledge with CM Labs’ technology and expertise, according to the company. Customers will gain access to a combined suite of simulation-based training products.
CM Labs will expand its U.S. presence through GlobalSim’s Salt Lake City location, which provides additional manufacturing resources.
GlobalSim specializes in crane simulators and develops training systems for port, construction, industrial and military markets.
Industry focus
Both companies have focused on port operations training, delivering safety and performance outcomes in that sector, according to CM Labs.
The combined organization will serve port customers worldwide with training systems designed to increase workforce readiness, improve safety and reduce training costs.
“This is a natural evolution for two organizations that have decades of proven safety, precision, and performance outcomes in port operations,” said Robert Weldon, CEO of CM Labs. “CM Labs and GlobalSim are uniting to deliver unmatched quality, value and support to our port customers worldwide.”
“GlobalSim and CM Labs have pushed each other to innovate for nearly two decades,” said Brad Ball, vice president of sales and marketing for GlobalSim. “Joining forces allows us to combine the very best technology, engineering talent, and industry expertise from both organizations.”
