Compass Group Canada has once again been named one of the Best Workplaces in Canada, marking the third time the national food and support services provider has earned the honour from the Great Place to Work Institute.
The company, which employs more than 25,000 people at 2,300 locations across the country, was recognized for fostering a workplace culture built on trust, safety, inclusion, and pride.
This recognition comes after Compass Group Canada was also named to the institute’s 2024 list of Best Workplaces with Most Trusted Executive Teams. It’s the sixth consecutive year the company has received accolades from the institute.
Focus on culture and employee well-being
At the core of Compass Group’s workplace philosophy are four leadership commitments: We Care, We Share, We Dream, We Deliver. These values guide its operations and have helped shape a people-first culture, said Saajid Khan, CEO of Compass Group Canada and ESS North America.
“Our associates not only embrace the role they play in building upon our award-winning culture, but their collective commitment is the reason we appear on this list year after year,” Khan said in a statement.
Compass Group Canada has introduced several initiatives to support employee development and well-being, including a structured mentorship program, expanded health and dental benefits, and an enhanced employee and family assistance program. A growing library of self-guided learning modules and defined career pathing also support professional growth.

Safety, trust and inclusion emphasized
Feedback from the company’s internal Trust Index Survey cited several strengths, including honest leadership, a commitment to physical safety, and a culture of inclusion. Employees reported feeling welcomed and respected regardless of background or identity.
“Our team continues to redefine what it means to be one of the Best Workplaces in Canada,” said Lauren Davey, chief people and transformation officer. “This achievement is a testament to the collective commitment of our teams.”
Longstanding recognition history
In addition to the 2025 honour, Compass Group Canada has been repeatedly recognized by Great Place to Work in multiple categories, including Best Workplaces in Retail and Hospitality and Best Workplaces for Hybrid Work. The company was also named one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures from 2021 to 2023 and a GTA Top Employer in 2021 and 2023.
