HR News Canada has been shortlisted for five Canadian Online Publishing Awards (COPAs), recognizing excellence across editorial content, design and digital platform development.

The publication, part of the North Wall Media family of workplace media brands including HR Law Canada, Safety News Canada, and the HR Talks event series, received nominations in both the business and consumer divisions of the awards program, which evaluates digital content creators across Canada’s publishing industry.

“The COPAs have become the pre-eminent Digital Awards Program in Canada,” said Sandy Donald, publisher of Masthead. “With more than a decade of history, it is important to refer to the inclusiveness and participation of all geographic regions across Canada.”

Recognition across multiple categories

The publication earned business division nominations for best blog column/videocast/podcast for Todd Humber’s Editor’s Notes series, best website for HR News Canada’s digital platform, best company feature for “Resilience at Work,” and best patriotic story for “We’re far more than simply ‘not American’: What it means to be Canadian.”

HR News Canada also received a consumer division nomination for best email newsletter design for its weekly update.

“These nominations reflect the commitment our team has to delivering meaningful, high-quality content that serves Canada’s HR community,” said Humber, publisher of HR News Canada. “Whether it’s through in-depth features, thoughtful commentary, or our digital platforms, we work every day to provide the insights and analysis HR professionals need.”

About the awards program

The Canadian Online Publishing Awards launched in 2009 as a showcase for digital content creators in Canada’s magazine and newspaper industries. The program has expanded to become the country’s largest digital publishing awards, with four divisions covering academic, business-to-business, business-to-consumer and news/sports content.

More than 90 judges from across Canada’s content, creative, digital, web, technology, marketing and publishing sectors evaluate entries. Winners will be announced at a later date.
