HRCI, a prominent organization for human resources credentialing and learning, has joined the North American Human Resource Management Association (NAHRMA), a regional group that represents HR professionals in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

This new membership marks a significant expansion of HRCI’s international involvement as it will now participate in the World Federation of People Management Associations (WFPMA), a global network for HR professionals.

Founded in 1997, NAHRMA represents over 250,000 HR professionals across North America. The association aims to advance human resources practices, enhance professional people management, and disseminate HR knowledge in both the public and private sectors. As part of its role within NAHRMA, HRCI will represent the United States on the association’s board, contributing to its goals of promoting HR thought leadership and fostering international collaboration.

“Joining NAHRMA will significantly enhance our efforts in setting industry standards and expanding our presence within the international HR community,” said Dr. Amy Dufrane, CEO of HRCI. She emphasized that the membership allows HRCI to participate actively in WFPMA’s research efforts, underscoring HRCI’s commitment to driving meaningful change in the HR field. “We are excited to collaborate with other leading associations to drive meaningful change and promote best practices that benefit HR professionals everywhere,” Dufrane added.

The WFPMA, established in 1976, is a federation that connects over 550,000 HR professionals from more than 90 national HR associations. The organization hosts the World Congress on People Management biennially, where HR professionals from around the world exchange insights and address complex challenges in people management.

Anthony Ariganello, a fellow delegate and President and CEO of the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources British Columbia, Yukon, and Canada, expressed enthusiasm for HRCI’s addition to NAHRMA. “The WFPMA is thrilled to welcome HRCI as a full member of the NAHRMA,” he said, noting that the organization’s presence will “enrich our global HR community” as they work together to strengthen the profession on an international scale.
