Hydro One professional employees ratify new three-year contract

About 10,100 employees represented by the Society of United Professionals have ratified a new collective agreement with Hydro One Inc., the company announced Jan. 30.

The agreement, which was tentatively reached on Jan. 12, takes effect retroactively from Oct. 1, 2025, and runs until March 31, 2028. It covers employees in engineering, supervisory and other professional roles across Hydro One’s operations in Ontario.

“This agreement recognizes the important contributions of our employees while ensuring we remain focused on delivering value and reliability for our customers,” said David Lebeter, president and chief executive officer of Hydro One, in a statement.

Hydro One Limited is Ontario’s largest electricity transmission and distribution provider, serving 1.5 million customers. The company reported $36.7 billion in assets as of Dec. 31, 2024, and annual revenues of $8.5 billion in 2024.

In 2024, Hydro One invested $3.1 billion in its transmission and distribution networks and spent $2.9 billion on goods and services.
