Hydro One and the Power Workers’ Union have secured tentative agreements covering front-line workers across Ontario operations, with both deals requiring member ratification before taking effect this fall.

The agreements, announced Monday, cover two separate collective agreements: the main collective agreement and the Customer Service Operations collective agreement.

Once ratified by union membership, the new contracts will take effect October 1, 2025.

Hydro One, Ontario’s largest electricity transmission and distribution provider, serves 1.5 million customers and reported approximately $8.5 billion in annual revenues for 2024.

The utility employs 10,100 workers and invested $3.1 billion in its transmission and distribution networks last year, while purchasing $2.9 billion in goods and services.

Hydro One Limited operates as a publicly traded company on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX: H) with assets valued at $36.7 billion as of December 31, 2024.
