Hyundai Auto Canada has been recognized for the seventh consecutive year as one of Canada’s Best Workplaces™, an accolade awarded by the Great Place to Work Institute. The automotive manufacturer distinguished itself as the only automaker in the top 100, ranking 37th in the 2024 lineup.

In addition to this achievement, Hyundai Canada was also honored as one of the Best Workplaces for Women for the fifth year running and named among the Best Workplaces with Most Trusted Executive Teams.

The recognition reflects the company’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment, which has been instrumental in attracting and retaining talent within the automotive sector. Hyundai Canada emphasizes a people-first approach, regularly seeking input from its employees through surveys and internal communications.

Kirk Merrett, Hyundai Auto Canada’s Director of Human Resources and Administration, expressed pride in the company’s accomplishments. “It is rewarding to see how team members across every level embody our corporate culture every day, and actively contribute to sustaining a positive and equitable workplace culture,” Merrett stated. “Receiving recognition as one of Canada’s Best Workplaces™ for seven consecutive years is a significant achievement.”

The company champions diversity, equity, and inclusion, with its leadership team spearheading initiatives that enhance the employee experience. This includes cross-departmental mentorship programs and designated days for team building and community service, which help strengthen internal bonds and community engagement.

Moreover, Hyundai Canada’s commitment to employee wellbeing is evident in the variety of in-house wellness services it offers. These range from health checkups and on-site massages to free meals and a virtual vet clinic.

The Best Workplaces list is compiled from data gathered via the Trust Index™ team member survey, which collects extensive employee feedback to measure the consistency and quality of the workplace experience across various demographic groups and roles within the organization.

Established in 1983, Hyundai Auto Canada was Hyundai Motor Company’s first subsidiary outside of Korea. It now operates over 250 dealerships nationwide and serves as the official automotive partner for the NHL and NHLPA in Canada.
