IGM Financial has been selected as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2026, marking the fifth straight year the company has appeared on Mediacorp Canada’s national list.
The annual ranking highlights employers that offer strong workplace programs and supports. IGM said its inclusion reflects efforts across its family of companies, which includes IG Wealth Management and Mackenzie Investments. The organization employs more than 3,500 permanent staff and works with about 3,000 IG Wealth Management advisors across the country.
“We’re honoured to be named one of Canada’s Top Employers for the fifth consecutive year,” said James O’Sullivan, president and CEO of IGM Financial. “This recognition reflects our ongoing focus on ensuring that employees across our organization feel empowered, appreciated and able to succeed.”
Focus on people strategy
According to the company, its people strategy over the past year has emphasized culture, employee experience, community engagement, diversity, equity and inclusion, and environmental impact.
“Our collaborative culture is key to our company’s ongoing success,” said Cynthia Currie, executive vice-president and chief human resources officer. She said the organization aims to create an environment that supports productivity and values diverse perspectives.
Community and inclusion initiatives
IGM said a core part of its culture is encouraging inclusion and community involvement. Seven employee-led business resource groups host events, development programs and community projects across the organization.
The company also highlighted external initiatives such as the IG Walk for Alzheimer’s, the Mackenzie Investments Charitable Foundation and the annual IGM Giving Campaign, which brings together employees and advisors to volunteer and raise funds for charities.
IGM reported approximately $307 billion in assets under management and advisement as of Oct. 31, 2025. Its services support about two million Canadians through financial planning and investment management programs delivered primarily through IG Wealth Management and Mackenzie Investments, along with strategic positions in other wealth and asset management firms.
