UKG has appointed Jennifer Morgan as its new chief executive officer, the company announced on July 29. Morgan, an experienced leader in the enterprise software industry and former co-CEO of SAP, succeeds Chris Todd, who steps down after 17 years with the human resources technology provider.
Morgan brings to UKG a robust background in enterprise software and operational expertise. “Jen is a leader in the enterprise software industry with standout operational expertise and deep experience at leading world-class, global organizations,” said Aron Ain, executive chair of UKG’s Board of Directors. “Her industry insight and understanding of our customers, coupled with her strategic vision and people-focused leadership, will propel the company forward.”
Morgan, who has served on the UKG Board of Directors since 2021, was most recently Global Head of Portfolio Operations at Blackstone. She held a key role at SAP from 2017 to 2020, overseeing strategic growth initiatives during her 16-year tenure and becoming the first female CEO of a DAX-listed company. Blackstone is also a significant investor in UKG.
In her new role, Morgan expressed enthusiasm for UKG’s approach to human capital management (HCM) solutions. “UKG stands apart as a category creator redefining what’s possible for improving employee experiences at scale,” she said. “I see tremendous opportunity for UKG to continue to reshape how companies achieve their talent and culture objectives through HR, talent, payroll, and workforce management solutions.”
Aron Ain, the company’s executive chair, acknowledged outgoing CEO Chris Todd for his contributions, particularly during the recent merger of Kronos and Ultimate Software. “I want to sincerely thank Chris for his leadership and support in laying the foundation for UKG’s next phase of growth and execution,” said Ain.
Todd expressed gratitude for his time at UKG. “It has been a privilege to serve as UKG’s CEO and help deliver value for over 80,000 organizations worldwide,” he said. “The UKG team shares an uncompromising commitment to championing great workplaces, and I know that under Jen’s leadership, the company will be well-positioned to capitalize on new, exciting opportunities globally.”
