Builder Brothers Construction Inc. has been fined $25,000 following a workplace injury incident that occurred on July 25, 2022, near Hague, Sask.
The company pleaded guilty in Rosthern Provincial Court to violating The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 2020.
The court found that Builder Brothers Construction failed to ensure workers used a fall protection system at a worksite, contravening clause 9-2 (2) (a) of the regulations.
This failure resulted in a worker’s serious injury after falling from a height of more than three metres while removing slings from a set of trusses. The company received a fine of $17,857.14, along with a surcharge of $7,142.86.
Three additional charges related to the incident were withdrawn.
