Seven nominees elected to LifeSpeak’s board at AGM, key leadership changes announced

LifeSpeak Inc., a company specializing in whole-person wellbeing solutions for employers and health plans, held its Annual General and Special Meeting of Shareholders on June 19, 2024. During the meeting, all seven nominees were elected to the Board of Directors.

In addition to the board elections, shareholders reappointed MNP LLP as the company’s auditor for the financial year ending December 31, 2024. Shareholders also approved resolutions regarding unallocated options under the company’s omnibus plan and the full conversion amount under the company’s outstanding convertible loan.

Leadership changes

LifeSpeak announced the appointment of Britt Morries as Chief Technology Officer. Morries brings extensive experience, having held senior roles at Aon, Wellbeats, Palomar, and Amazon Web Services. He will lead the execution of LifeSpeak’s technology strategy, which includes a focus on AI to enhance service utility and relevance.

Michael Held, CEO of LifeSpeak, expressed confidence in Morries’ impact, stating, “We are excited about the impact Britt will have on our engineering, infrastructure, and quality assurance teams. His addition substantially strengthens our senior management group given his deep background in technology leadership.”

The company also announced that Mike McKenna, Chief Financial Officer, departed on June 18, 2024, to pursue other opportunities. Nolan Bederman, Executive Chair of LifeSpeak, commented, “On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank Mike for his contribution to our going-public process, our acquisitions, and his dedication to LifeSpeak. We wish him the best of luck with all of his future endeavours.”

Bryan Slapack has been appointed Interim Chief Financial Officer. Slapack, who has over 12 years of financial and industry experience, previously served as Vice President of Finance at LifeSpeak. He holds a CPA designation and a BBA in Accounting from the Schulich School of Business at York University.

LifeSpeak is currently conducting an executive search for a permanent CFO and expects to fill the position in the coming weeks.
