Takeda named Top Employer in Canada for third year, recognized globally

by HR News Canada

Takeda Canada Inc. has been certified as a Top Employer in Canada for 2025, marking the third consecutive year the company has received the distinction. The recognition, announced on Jan. 21, comes from the Top Employers Institute, which evaluates organizations on a range of human resources practices. Takeda is one of only 17 companies to achieve global certification, having also been recognized in 24 other countries.

The certification is based on the Top Employers Institute’s HR Best Practices Survey, which assesses companies on 20 areas, including diversity and inclusion, talent acquisition, learning, and employee well-being.

“This recognition reflects our commitment to a diverse and inclusive culture by investing in our people’s growth,” said Vatro Mateljic, general manager of Takeda Canada. “We aim to create an engaging lifelong learning environment that supports employees’ career aspirations.”

David Plink, CEO of Top Employers Institute, praised certified organizations for their ability to adapt to global challenges. “The certified Top Employers for 2025 demonstrate outstanding dedication to their employees globally,” he said.

Takeda was commended for its performance in areas such as ethics and integrity, purpose and values, and business strategy. The company is part of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited, a Japan-based biopharmaceutical firm with operations in about 80 countries. It focuses on areas including rare diseases, oncology, and neuroscience.

The recognition reinforces Takeda’s emphasis on fostering a strong workplace culture aligned with its values, which have been central to the company’s mission for more than 200 years.
