Transguard Group adopts biometric workforce tracking for 65,000 contract workers in UAE

by HR News Canada

Transguard Group has deployed more than 400 biometric devices to track the attendance and hours of 65,000 contract workers across multiple sites in the United Arab Emirates, including Expo City in Dubai.

The security and facilities management company, a subsidiary of Emirates Group, selected biometric technology firm Invixium to supply the IXM TITAN devices for time tracking. The system is designed to automate workforce management, replacing manual processes with biometric enrolment and real-time data tracking.

“Titan has been invaluable in meeting our biometric time and attendance requirements,” said Tim Mundell, chief security officer at Transguard Group. “Invixium worked very closely with our management team to deliver an automated workforce management solution that delivers exceptional administration efficiency, heightened employee sustainability, and extreme accuracy to eliminate time theft with detailed audit trails.”

The TITAN system integrates with Invixium’s IXM WEB platform, which provides identity verification, analytics, and audit trails. Transguard Group cited the devices’ ability to function in harsh conditions, including construction sites, as a key factor in its selection. The biometric readers are also being used for meal management and shift changes, with cellular connectivity ensuring uninterrupted operations.

Shiraz Kapadia, CEO and president of Invixium, said the scale of the project provided an opportunity to improve efficiency. “We’re honoured to be a strategic partner for Transguard Group,” he said. “The scale of this massive industrial project allowed us to deliver significant savings in time and costs for Transguard Group.”

The deployment aligns with Transguard’s broader digital transformation strategy, which aims to modernize its workforce management systems. The company expects the biometric technology to streamline operations and reduce administrative costs.
