Valmet appoints Anu Pires as senior vice-president of human resources

Valmet has announced the appointment of Anu Pires as senior vice-president of human resources, effective Sept. 1, 2024. In her new role, Pires will report directly to the president and CEO and join Valmet’s executive team.

Pires comes to Valmet from Paulig Group, where she has served as senior VP of HR since 2018. With a career spanning multiple multinational companies, Pires brings extensive international experience in both industrial and consumer sectors.

Her previous roles include vice-president of human resources at Lumene from 2017 to 2018, and various HR management positions at Outotec from 2016 to 2017.

She also worked as head of HR for APAC Mobile Device Sales during Nokia’s integration with Microsoft from 2014 to 2015. Between 1998 and 2014, Pires held several HR management roles at Nokia, working in Brazil, China, and India.

She began her HR career as a trainee and specialist at Valmet from 1996 to 1998.

Pires will be based at Valmet’s head office in Espoo, Finland.
