WorkTango has introduced a new generative artificial intelligence feature that it says can reduce the time it takes employers to review and act on employee survey results.
The company’s “AI Comment Themes” feature, available now to all users of its Surveys & Insights software, automatically generates core themes from open-ended survey responses as soon as a survey closes. WorkTango executives say this approach can shorten the months-long process of reviewing results and speed up decision-making, allowing leaders to respond more quickly to concerns raised by employees.
“Today’s leaders and HR professionals are being asked to do more with fewer resources, and many do not enter their roles with prior analytics or data science experience,” said Nadir Ebrahim, Chief Product and Customer Officer, WorkTango. “Our AI Comment Themes and Comment Summaries features save leaders weeks of post-survey analysis time, and enable employers to act on important employee feedback sooner,” said Ebrahim.
The new tool follows WorkTango’s August release of “AI Comment Summaries,” which can scan thousands of open-ended responses in seconds and export highlights into presentation slides with a single click. The summaries also generate recommended actions employers might consider to address issues raised by staff.
HumanGood, which operates life plan and affordable housing communities with about 5,000 team members serving more than 13,000 residents, has used the AI-driven summaries. “With approximately 5,000 team members … it’s critical to process thousands of survey responses efficiently,” said Krysten Smith, Associate Director of Feedback and Insights at HumanGood. “WorkTango’s new AI comment summary feature has simplified the process and enabled us to summarize a large amount of feedback in minutes,” said Smith.
WorkTango said the features have been assessed by Armilla AI, an independent risk assessment and verification group, for accuracy, fairness and compliance with regulations. The company said Armilla AI’s review was based on the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s AI Risk Management Framework and New York City’s Local Law 144, and found WorkTango’s tools could identify themes and sentiments free of demographic bias.
For employers that do not want to use AI, WorkTango said both the AI Comment Themes and AI Comment Summaries features can be toggled off.
