Saskatchewan’s Labour Relations Board has appointed Linda Zarzeczny, K.C. as vice chairperson for a five-year term that began April 30, 2025.

Zarzeczny joins chairperson Kyle McCreary and vice-chairperson Carol Kraft on the quasi-judicial tribunal that adjudicates disputes under The Saskatchewan Employment Act.

“Ms. Zarzeczny’s background in private law and her time spent in the Ministry of Justice make her an excellent addition to the board,” said Deputy Premier and Labour Relations and Workplace Safety Minister Jim Reiter.

Reiter added that “Ms. Zarzeczny’s appointment will ensure timely service and continuity for hearings before the board.”

Zarzeczny brings significant legal experience to the role, having received her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Saskatchewan before practicing in Alberta. Upon returning to Saskatchewan, she held several senior positions within the Ministry of Justice.

Her government service includes roles as Senior Crown Counsel, Executive Director of the Civil Law Division, and as the first Assistant Deputy Attorney General of the Legal Services Division. Most recently, she served as Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General for Saskatchewan.

The Labour Relations Board operates independently from government and maintains equal representation from employee and employer representatives. The board handles applications for union certification or decertification in addition to adjudicating employment disputes.
