A Toronto-based corporate training company is warning that AI adoption inside organizations is failing not because of inadequate technology, but because employees aren’t ready to use it.

Teamland released a position statement Oct. 21 calling on business leaders to move beyond what it describes as “training theater” and invest in practical skill-building that changes how employees work day-to-day.

“Executives don’t have a tool problem, they have a behavior problem,” said Najeeb Khan, CEO of Teamland. “Slide decks and one-off AI days don’t change how work gets done. Habits do.”

Focus on workflow adoption

According to the company, its AI First programs focus on embedding AI use into specific job functions rather than offering general awareness sessions. The training includes hands-on practice with job-specific use cases and tracks outcomes such as time saved, error reduction and increased throughput.

Teamland offers three program levels: Fundamentals for enterprise-wide literacy, Studio for role-based labs and Strategy for leadership alignment and governance.

Three recommended actions

The company outlined three steps for leaders seeking faster results. First, treat AI as an ongoing capability build tied to real processes and key performance indicators rather than a one-time event. Second, create safe practice environments using sandboxes and regular check-ins to normalize learning. Third, measure workflow usage and business impact instead of training attendance.

“Organizations that operationalize AI now will compound learning and competitive advantage over the next 12 months,” Khan said. “Those that wait for perfect policies will watch faster competitors pass them.”

Training delivery and reach

Teamland delivers programs virtually and on-site across North America and Europe. The company has trained more than 25,000 professionals and works with clients including Amazon, Disney, Shopify, Google and Spotify.

Delivery hubs include cities in the United States, Europe and Canada, with operations in Toronto and Vancouver.
