Payscale introduces AI-driven tools to streamline compensation decisions

by HR News Canada

Payscale has rolled out a suite of artificial intelligence-driven features aimed at helping compensation professionals make more informed pay decisions, the company announced Tuesday.

The enhancements include Payscale Pulse, which provides real-time compensation data, expanded HRIS integrations for seamless pay data access, advanced analytics dashboards for tracking salary trends, and AI-powered job matching to automate market pricing.

“These releases extend our history of data innovation and our mission to equip our customers with the tools and insights necessary to attract, retain, and reward talent,” said Chris Hays, CEO of Payscale.

The Payscale Pulse dataset includes information from 9 million employees, covering 4,900 job roles across 3,800 organizations. It incorporates HR-reported data and AI-powered modeling to fill gaps where traditional compensation surveys may fall short, the company said.

“Our MarketPay customers are compensation data experts and understand data deeply,” said Gerard Smith, Payscale’s vice-president of data expansion. “This isn’t years-old data aged to today. This is the freshest data available for compensation professionals with AI-modeled insights to fill critical information gaps.”

Payscale also introduced 10 new HRIS integrations for its Payfactors platform, bringing the total to 14. The company said these integrations allow users to access salary data directly within the platform, eliminating the need for manual updates.

“Compensation professionals no longer need to jump through hoops to integrate their compensation data with their employee data,” said Peh Keong Teh, Payscale’s chief product officer.

The company also unveiled enhanced analytics dashboards that provide real-time insights into salary compression and market trends. Payscale said the goal is to equip HR teams with data to drive strategic pay conversations with leadership.

Another addition, AI Match Suggestions, is designed to automate job matching for compensation benchmarking, reducing the time required to price roles.

“Payscale’s strong start to 2025 highlights our reputation for delivering innovative data and tech solutions so compensation professionals can have greater confidence in their compensation practices,” said Kate Peter, Payscale’s chief customer officer.

Payscale provides compensation data and software to organizations, including Fortune 500 companies such as Panasonic, Chipotle, and American Airlines. The company said it aims to help employers make fair and competitive pay decisions using a mix of traditional survey data and AI-powered insights.
