Singapore Airlines (SIA) is soaring high with generosity, offering bonuses equivalent to eight months’ salary to its employees, according to published reports.

“The carrier will reward its employees with a bonus worth nearly eight months of salary, a person familiar with the matter told CNN on Friday. The person asked not to be named because the information was not intended to be made public,” according to a report posted on CNN by Heather Chen and Diksha Madhok.

Earlier this month, the airline reported record profits of nearly $2.7 billion Singapore dollars (or about $2 billion US) for its 2023-2024 fiscal year, up 24 per cent from the previous year.

SIA had an average of 16,643 employees in the fiscal year, a 12.4% increase from the previous year.

In 2024, SIA was again named in Fortune magazine’s list of the 50 most admired companies in the world. In February 2023, SIA was name Airline of the Year in the Air Transport World Airline Industry Awards.
