Southlea expands to Alberta, appoints new principal for executive compensation

by Todd Humber

Southlea, a consulting firm specializing in executive compensation and governance, has expanded into Alberta with the appointment of Desmond Salisbury as a principal and lead for the province.

Salisbury, who previously served as head of human resources for a major pipeline company, brings more than 12 years of experience in executive compensation, total rewards, and human resources. He has worked in both corporate and consulting roles, with a focus on the energy sector.

“I look forward to leading the firm’s presence in Alberta and the energy sector, and to fostering the Southlea way of providing dedicated support to HR committees and CHROs on strategic performance, talent and compensation issues,” Salisbury said.

Southlea President and Managing Partner Amanda Voegeli said the firm’s expansion reflects the increasing demand for specialized executive compensation advice tailored to business strategy.

“Southlea has grown significantly over the past four years to meet the demand for tailored executive compensation advice that aligns with each client’s business strategy,” Voegeli said.

Southlea, part of the GECN Group, a network of independent consulting firms in 35 countries, provides compensation consulting with a global perspective. The firm has offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Montreal.
