Wolseley Canada has appointed Laureen Cushing as its new vice-president of human resources, effective April 1.

Cushing returns to Wolseley after serving as global vice-president of human resources at Savaria Corporation. She previously spent 17 years at Wolseley Canada in progressively senior HR roles, where she led key strategic initiatives.

“Laureen brings business knowledge, industry acumen, and global experience — a great combination for our organization,” said Wally Quigg, president of Wolseley Canada. “I’m excited to welcome her back to Wolseley and to our Canadian leadership team.”

In her new position, Cushing will guide Wolseley’s human resources strategy, focusing on culture and engagement, talent development, and total rewards. She will also provide strategic HR support to the senior leadership team.

“I’m thrilled to be back at Wolseley Canada,” Cushing said. “I look forward to evolving our culture and continuing to develop our people so they can bring their best to work every day.”

Wolseley Canada, based in Burlington, Ont., employs about 2,500 people across more than 220 locations nationwide. It distributes plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, waterworks, fire protection, and industrial products.

Its parent company, Ferguson, headquartered in Newport News, Va., has approximately 35,000 employees and reported sales of US$29.6 billion for fiscal year 2024.
