Safety First Training Ltd., a workplace safety training provider, has been nominated for the 2024 Small Business of the Year Award by the Canadian National Business Awards.
The Mississauga-based company, which has provided occupational health and safety training for more than 30 years, offers onsite instruction, “train the trainer” programs, and online courses. Among its key offerings is the Working at Heights Training Certification, which is approved by Ontario’s Chief Prevention Officer and designed to reduce workplace fall-related injuries. Other courses cover fire safety and lockout/tagout procedures for hazardous energy control.
Kevin Mork, vice-president of business development at Safety First Training, said the nomination reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to workplace safety.
“We are incredibly honoured by this recognition from the Canadian National Business Awards,” he said. “This nomination is a testament to our unwavering commitment to workplace safety excellence and the trust our clients have placed in us over the past three decades.”
Safety First Training’s client roster includes major companies such as PepsiCo, Canadian Tire, Amazon, and the University of Toronto.
The winners of the Canadian National Business Awards will be announced later this year.
