Two prominent Canadian executive search firms, Amrop Rosin and Humanis Calgary, have merged to create a national presence under the global Amrop brand, the companies announced May 5.
The merger combines Amrop Rosin’s national expertise with Humanis Calgary’s strong reputation in Western Canada, enhancing their capability to support Canadian businesses with executive searches and leadership decisions, said Jeff Rosin, managing partner at Amrop Rosin.
“Our combined expertise and resources will allow us to deliver even greater value to our clients,” said Rosin. “By challenging conventional thinking and deeply understanding organizational values, our strength lies in helping companies navigate complex leadership decisions in securing the most relevant talent to deliver against their business strategy.”
Humanis Calgary, previously known as Pekarsky & Co., specializes in senior executive searches including legal, board, and C-suite positions. Founded in 2009, it received the 2024 Small Business of the Year Award from ConnectFirst Credit Union and is known for its strong community engagement.
Adam Pekarsky, founding partner of Pekarsky & Co., described the merger as a reflection of shared values and vision.
“This isn’t about getting bigger for the sake of it — it’s about getting better, together,” said Pekarsky.
Pekarsky and Rosin have a long history together, previously working at Korn Ferry and maintaining a professional relationship for nearly 20 years.
Amrop’s global chair, Annika Farin, said the merger significantly strengthens the company’s Canadian capabilities.
“Amrop Rosin is the embodiment of Amrop’s strategy and approach: a challenger to the integrated firms, with strong representation at the top end of the house, in key market segments,” said Farin.
The combined firm’s leadership team will include Ranju Shergill, Cameron McDonald, Kelly Freeman, Paul Weinberg, Michael Lewis, and Lena Kozovski, aiming to ensure a seamless transition for clients and partners.
National strength, local expertise
The new structure leverages Amrop’s global reach combined with deep regional expertise from Humanis Calgary, making the firm more competitive nationally, especially in Western Canada.
Rosin emphasized that the goal of the merger was to strengthen their service quality rather than merely expand the business’s size.
Focused on strategic placements
Both firms have built reputations around thoughtful, strategic approaches to executive placement and succession planning. Rosin highlighted the importance of understanding organizational culture and values in securing leadership talent that aligns with clients’ business strategies.
