5day.io has launched its project management platform globally, positioning itself as a minimalist tool designed to help teams work with more focus and less complexity.
Founded by Jinal and Saumil Shah, the San Francisco-based company said it aims to offer a streamlined alternative to feature-heavy platforms that can add administrative burden for HR and business teams. The platform combines projects, tasks, collaboration, automation, and timesheets in one workspace.
Focus on simplicity
5day.io said it was created to address the frustration many teams feel when managing work across multiple systems.
“We built 5day.io because we saw a pattern across every company we worked with,” said Jinal Shah, co-founder. “Teams were doing everything right: setting goals, tracking progress, collaborating, and yet feeling overwhelmed. It wasn’t work that was exhausting them. It was the systems around it.”
The company said its approach uses “design restraint” to reduce distractions. A Minimal Mode feature allows teams to prioritize key tasks and maintain focus.
Designed for hybrid and remote teams
Co-founder Saumil Shah said the product is intended to support organizations balancing flexibility with performance expectations.
“The problem we were solving applied to almost every startup and mid-sized company,” he said. “With hybrid and remote work becoming the norm, people crave flexibility, while companies crave outcomes. Building a platform that was flexible and genuinely delivered outcomes was the need of the hour.”
AI-powered roadmap
The company’s product plans include an AI-driven orchestration layer designed to automate parts of project execution. According to the company, these contextual agents will understand tasks, client data, and workflows to support outcome delivery.
“The future of work isn’t about humans managing tasks; it’s about intelligent systems managing context,” Saumil said. “Our goal is to make 5day.io the operational brain of every modern company, a calm layer of intelligence that makes things happen.”
Approach to growth
5day.io said its design reflects its philosophy, using clean typography and a simple interface. Rather than adding more features, the company said it plans to refine core elements that support productive work.
“People are at their best when work feels simple,” Jinal said.
The platform is available with a 30-day trial for new users.
