ADP Canada Co. launched The Small Business Toolkit on Oct. 1, providing resources for Canadian small business owners to address common operational challenges, according to the company.
The toolkit covers talent management, compliance obligations and HR technology implementation. It includes guidance, templates and testimonials from small business owners.
“As the business world shifts, the small business owner’s journey to success can become increasingly complex,” said Mohamed Basma, general manager of small business services at ADP Canada. “Small businesses are a vibrant part of every local community, which is why we’re so focused on ensuring they have the trusted support and guidance they need to help them manage the many moving parts required to run a successful business.”
Talent and technology focus
The toolkit addresses hiring practices, employee retention and skills development in competitive labour markets, according to ADP Canada. It also provides information on HR technology systems that automate business processes and support decision-making.
The company said the toolkit includes compliance resources such as benefit requirements, legal templates and webinars to help employers meet their legal obligations.
Business planning resources
The toolkit consolidates information on several operational areas, according to ADP Canada:
Business planning — Executive summaries, business descriptions, financial planning and operations management plans
Recruitment — Job description writing, skills-based hiring strategies and workplace culture development
Employee experience — Engagement strategies, continuous learning programs and personalized approaches to workforce management
Compliance — Templates, training and webinars on changing regulations, benefits and insurance requirements
Financial management — Cash flow management systems, payroll budgeting and guidance on working with certified public accountants
Technology — HR platforms for onboarding, payroll and performance management, plus data security considerations
ADP Canada said the toolkit is designed to help small business owners select systems that can scale as their businesses grow.
