Montreal-based Workleap has launched an AI agent that analyzes Slack conversations to give managers real-time insights into team performance, engagement and coaching opportunities.

The Human Capital agent, built in partnership with Slack, uses artificial intelligence to anonymously analyze workplace conversations and combine them with existing performance data, engagement surveys and review history from Workleap’s platform.

“We’ve been helping managers act quickly and confidently for nearly 20 years,” said Guillaume Roy, co-founder and chief product officer of Workleap. “For a lot of companies, Slack is where work happens.”

The integration is designed for knowledge workers and small to mid-sized businesses that use Slack as their primary collaboration platform.

How the integration works

The system works on a per-user basis. Slack administrators control what Workleap can access, and the platform can only see what each individual user already has permission to view in Slack.

Workleap’s AI analyzes messages, channels and conversations to surface team signals that managers might miss in day-to-day operations. This information is combined with performance goals, engagement data from Workleap’s Officevibe product, and historical review information.

Three primary use cases

The integration addresses three areas for HR and people managers.

Performance reviews can draw on actual contributions and conversations from Slack rather than relying solely on manager recall. Engagement insights combine feedback from surveys with daily Slack context to identify emerging themes. Employees and HR teams can search for policies, updates and team knowledge across Slack and other tools like Jira and Notion.

Built on new Slack technology

Workleap’s launch coincides with Slack’s general availability of its Real-Time Search API and Model Context Protocol server. These tools enable secure, AI-ready access to workplace data.

The Model Context Protocol-based architecture allows for future expansion beyond search and retrieval. Workleap said the system could eventually enable AI-assisted actions within Slack workflows when users explicitly authorize them.

Rollout timeline

The Slack integration is available now in Workleap and will roll out to all customers through February 2026.

Workleap operates two product lines: the Workleap Platform for HR teams and ShareGate for Microsoft 365 migration and governance. More than 20,000 companies use Workleap products. The company was founded in 2006.
