A Montreal-based tech company has released artificial intelligence features designed to help HR professionals analyze employee engagement and guide managers through performance reviews.
Workleap announced its summer product release Thursday, introducing AI capabilities across its talent management platform that serves more than 20,000 companies in over 100 countries.
The new Workleap AI system provides automated analysis of employee engagement surveys, offers guidance for performance reviews, and pulls information from workplace tools like SharePoint and Slack. More than 100 organizations have tested the features in beta, generating over 20,000 AI-powered actions.
The company is targeting HR departments facing increased pressure from hybrid work arrangements, budget constraints and higher expectations while trying to support managers and keep top employees.
A recent Workleap survey found 77.5 per cent of HR professionals are excited about AI’s potential but remain concerned about privacy risks, security issues and losing human connections in the workplace.
“AI can handle the noise, so leaders can amplify what matters: their people,” said Guillaume Roy, co-founder and chief product officer of Workleap. “Workleap AI is the co-pilot HR leaders and managers have been waiting for: deeply practical, seamlessly integrated, designed with safety and security in mind, and built to help organizations focus on what truly matters — people, performance, and growth.”
Key AI features now available
The AI system launched July 8 with three main capabilities:
Engagement analysis: The software summarizes survey results and engagement metrics, helping managers respond to employee feedback with clear action plans.
Performance review assistance: HR teams can design custom review cycles while AI guides managers and employees through peer evaluations, self-assessments and final submissions.
Information retrieval: A built-in assistant searches through workplace documents and tools to provide quick answers without manual searching.
Automated team management coming later this month
Workleap will release HRIS Sync Dynamic Structure on July 22, which automatically uses current human resources information system data to build and maintain accurate team structures, memberships, manager assignments and reporting hierarchies.
The feature aims to eliminate manual updates and ensure all Workleap products reflect current organizational structures.
Company background
Workleap has operated since 2006, building HR and IT solutions from its Montreal headquarters. The company runs two product lines: the Workleap Platform for HR teams and ShareGate for Microsoft 365 migration and governance.
The company positions itself as a complement to existing HRIS systems rather than a replacement, focusing on tools that HR teams and managers will actually use for coaching, engagement and performance management.
