Ericsson Canada tops telecom industry on Forbes’ best employers list for 2025

by HR News Canada

Ericsson Canada has been ranked first in the Telecommunications and Cable Supplier category on Forbes’ annual list of Canada’s Best Employers for 2025. This marks the company’s tenth consecutive appearance on the list, placing it among the top 30 “Honour Roll” companies. Ericsson Canada moved up 35 spots from last year to secure the 29th position out of 300 large organizations surveyed.

The rankings are based on employee feedback collected by Forbes and market research firm Statista. Survey respondents rated their employers on factors such as gender pay equity, opportunities for advancement, and management practices. Employees were also asked whether they would recommend their employer and provided ratings for competitors within their industry.

Jeanette Irekvist, president of Ericsson Canada, said the recognition reflects the company’s focus on building a positive workplace culture. “Being recognized by Forbes as one of Canada’s Best Employers for the tenth consecutive year is an incredible honour,” Irekvist said. “Our people are our greatest asset, and their passion drives our continued leadership in next-generation communication technologies.”

Ericsson Canada employs more than 3,100 people across offices and 5G research and development centres in Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto. The company is among Canada’s top 10 R&D investors, contributing more than $7 billion to research initiatives over the years. Ericsson has supported nationwide 5G rollouts and collaborated with academic and industry partners throughout its 70 years of operating in Canada.

Forbes’ methodology for the rankings involved surveying employees at Canadian companies with at least 500 workers.
