IGM Financial has been named among the top employers in Manitoba for the fourth consecutive year, while also receiving recognition nationally for its environmental and diversity efforts.
The Winnipeg-based wealth and asset management organization was included in Mediacorp Canada’s 2025 rankings for Manitoba’s Top Employers, Canada’s Greenest Employers and Canada’s Best Diversity Employers, the company announced Tuesday.
“Being included as a top employer in multiple categories by Mediacorp is a great honour and a testament to the ongoing efforts of our employees and advisors,” said James O’Sullivan, president and CEO of IGM Financial.
Community commitment
With both IGM and its subsidiary IG Wealth Management headquartered in Winnipeg, the company’s recognition as a top Manitoba employer highlights its nearly century-long presence in the province.
The Manitoba award specifically acknowledged IGM’s community involvement, work environment, health and financial benefits, and commitment to employee development opportunities.
Environmental initiatives
For the second straight year, IGM earned a spot among Canada’s Greenest Employers, reflecting its sustainability efforts that include phasing out single-use items across its campuses and implementing recycling programs that have diverted hundreds of tonnes of waste from landfills.
The company has also supported employee-led environmental volunteer activities such as community cleanups and tree planting events.
Diversity and inclusion focus
This marks the third consecutive year IGM has been recognized for its diversity efforts. The company recently released its first Reconciliation Action Plan and has prioritized Indigenous reconciliation as part of its sustainability strategy.
“At IGM, our commitment to fostering an inclusive, sustainable and supportive workplace is at the heart of everything we do,” said Cynthia Currie, executive vice-president and chief human resources officer at IGM Financial.
The company reports having more than 600 employees actively participating in seven different Business Resource Groups focused on driving operational change related to diversity and inclusion.
IGM Financial manages approximately $275 billion in assets as of March 31, 2025, primarily through its IG Wealth Management and Mackenzie Investments operations.
