Nurses across New Brunswick have voted to accept a tentative collective agreement reached with the provincial government earlier this month.
The deal was reached on Sept. 3 between the province and the New Brunswick Nurses Union, which represents more than 9,000 registered nurses, nurse practitioners and licensed practical nurses. Members work in hospitals, public and community health programs, Ambulance NB and extra-mural programs across the province.
“We are very pleased that nurses across the province have voted in favour of this new collective agreement,” said Finance and Treasury Board Minister René Legacy. “We have been listening to nurses when they tell us what’s important to them, and the negotiators on both sides worked diligently to get the deal done on an agreement that acknowledges the importance of these critical and valued employees.”
Details of the agreement will be released once it is signed, the government said.
